Wendy MacArthur

Wendy MacArthur is our honorary team member for life.  Wendy has always been a part of training for Grandma's and Whistlestop.  Wendy unexpectedly and tragically passed away in October of 2020.  She will forever inspire us to show up, train, and cross the finish line.  She will be with us every step of the way.

Wendy's running profile (from Liz Lustig): Wendy started her fitness and running journey a few years after I started mine.  While I don't feel I am an inspiration to people, she told me several times I inspired her to start running.  I honestly think it was because I was ten years older than her and, if I could do it - she could too.  While many of us crave the large crowds of races and group runs, Wendy actually preferred the solitude of running alone.  She loved being alone on the corridor or country road - especially if there were cows!  It was her time to sort through the stresses of being a special needs mom, a wife, and director of a busy grocery store.  Above all, Wendy ran for those who can't - like her pride and joy, Emma Jean.
