Libby Colt is a cousin of mine on my dad's side. I am the oldest, she is the youngest, and we are the only girls - all boys between us. Bookends my Grandma would say. There are almost exactly 20 years between us in age - we are both November birthdays. She is the baby of her family with a big age difference between her and her older brother - just like my kids - Nathan is 14 years younger than his brother and sister. The age difference between Libby and I is about the same between the age difference between Libby and Nathan. She gets him. She knows what it is like to be the amazing bonus kid that happens later in life. Very cool. I am so glad we have connected in adulthood and am SO excited to train with her for her FIRST half marathon!
Libby's running profile: I started running because I thought "how hard could it be, LOL". I also wanted to start running to be in better shape, but it is also like a competition with myself now to do better each day.
Libby's Grandma's 2024 Goal: To train a little more than 2023 and to run in underwear. Yes. that's right. Underwear. On the morning of the 2023 race, she realized she didn't have underwear on..... she didn't think twice, pulled up her jogging pants, and away she went. There was a sign along the way that a spectator held that said "smile if you are not wearing underwear"..... True Story.
